Drawbacks

Pros and Cons of Healthy Eating

Pros:
More energy
Weight loss
Balanced chemistry
Better overall functioning

Cons:
Splurge one night on an Arbys roast beef sandwich, some curly fries, a mozzarella stick and a few gulps of Dr. Pepper, and wind up with throbbing feet, buzzing ears and an entire night of sleep stolen away.

Sodium used to have very little effect on me, that I could tell anyway. Now it wrecks me apparently. I don't actually pay much attention to my sodium intake. I have many other things to worry about and it's too hard to get the right balance of calorie, vitamin, mineral, protein, fat, carbohydrate, etc. Adding sodium to that list is beyond my ability. However, it naturally occurs that when I'm eating balanced and more whole foods, sodium levels are in a nice healthy range.

Thank you Arby's for wrecking my night.

I haven't noticed issues with sodium (yet) but I have noticed that unhealthy foods are starting to taste weird to me. Pepsi is the biggest one - I used to drink at least one a day and I'm down to one a week, and even that one sometimes doesn't happen. It's so sweet! I'm sorry Arby's wrecked you; I love their fries. :\

Andrea, I've enjoyed reading through this blog. Congratulations on being more fit and exercising. You look great and it will be such a blessing to you now and 20 or 30 years down the road.
